So I figured my next post should be at least an inventory of all my tools (toys) that I have to create and control robots. All of the microcontrollers have been used in the past and I'll write a small blurb on each item about the use and how I liked it. So here we go...
Micro Controllers:
DFArduino Romeo All in One Controller ATMega 328
This is my first controller and it was a pretty good one for a quick and easy robot. It has a dual channel motor controller built in so I didn't need to buy one and it also has a few push buttons built in. Although this controller has been discontinued mine has never given me any issues.
Arduino BT ATMega 328
This was a board I purchased for the sole purpose of being a Bluetooth master for a "swarm" of Bluetooth robots. It was useful to learn about wireless communication which I used as a stepping stone to move into WiFi communication.
Arduino Mega 2560
Ah the mega this is my baby, my goto controller for any work I need to do with Arduino. By far the most useful Arduino I have ever bought and the most versatile.
Other Modules of Importance
Bluetooth Modules
I also do have a few bluetooth modules that I used during my first ever research project over robotic swarms. Bluetooth wasn't an easy communication protocol to use for robotics due to the narrow band that it uses.
And that's it for my major inventory. As a good Electrical Engineer I do have many optoisolators, resistors, LEDs, caps, etc. So if anyone has any good recommendations on boards or parts to use I'm all ears, leave a comment below.
